Die Modelllinie Breguet Type XX geht auf die 1950er-Jahre zurück, als Breguet von der französischen Marine und Luftwaffe beauftragt wurde, Chronographen für Piloten zu fertigen. Diese Uhren mussten strenge Spezifikationen erfüllen: gut ablesbares Zifferblatt, robustes Gehäuse sowie die Flyback-Funktion, die es Piloten ermöglichte, den Chronographen mit nur einem Knopfdruck neu zu starten. Diese Merkmale prägten das ursprüngliche Design der Type XX, das über Jahrzehnte beibehalten und in späteren Re-Editionen weiterentwickelt wurde.

Gehäuse

Die hier angebotene Ref. 3800ST stammt aus dem Jahr 1997 und weist ein 39 mm großes Edelstahlgehäuse mit einer bidirektional drehbaren Lünette auf, die über eine 60-Minuten-Skala verfügt. Typisch Breguet ist hier die ikonische Riffelung entlang des Gehäuses. Die Uhr hat einen massiven Edelstahlboden und wird am originalen Lederband inklusive Faltschließe angeboten.

Zifferblatt

Wichtig vorweg: Hier handelt es sich um die letzte Serie mit originalem Tritium Blatt und genau dieses ist hier perfekt erhalten. Das schwarze Zifferblatt zeigt große, mit Leuchtmasse belegte arabische Ziffern. Wie oben erwähnt, steht hier die Ablesbarkeit im Vordergrund. Die Hilfszifferblätter bei 3, 6 und 9 Uhr zeigen 30-Minuten-, 12-Stunden- sowie kleine Sekundenanzeigen. Das geschulte Auge erkennt sofort die sogenannte „Big Eye“-Konfiguration – das rechte Register ist deutlich größer als die anderen, was das Ablesen der verstrichenen Minuten erleichtert.

Werk

Die Ref. 3800ST ist mit einem Chronographen samt Flyback-Funktion ausgestattet, die das sofortige Nullstellen und Neustarten des Chronographen durch einmaliges Betätigen des unteren Drückers ermöglicht. Hier haben wir das Automatik-Kaliber 582, basierend auf dem Lemania 1350. Dieses Uhrwerk verfügt über 25 Lagersteine, eine Frequenz von 28.800 Halbschwingungen pro Stunde und eine Gangreserve von ca. 48 Stunden. Der Zustand des Werkes ist perfekt und wurde von uns frisch gewartet.

Set

Wie die meisten unserer Uhren ist auch diese Breguet komplett. Sie kommt in einer ausgefallenen Box, die das Seitenprofil eines Flugzeugflügels widerspiegelt. Dazu haben wir das Booklet und den Garantieschein.

 

🇬🇧 Breguet Type XX Ref. 3800ST

The Breguet Type XX line dates back to the 1950s when Breguet was commissioned by the French Navy and Air Force to produce chronographs for pilots. These watches had to meet strict specifications: a highly legible dial, robust case, and the flyback function, which allowed pilots to reset the chronograph with a single press of a button. These features defined the original design of the Type XX, which has been preserved and refined over the decades in subsequent re-editions.

Case

The offered Ref. 3800ST is from 1997 and features a 39 mm stainless steel case with a bidirectional rotating bezel that has a 60-minute scale. Characteristic for Breguet, we have the iconic case fluting. The watch is equipped with a solid stainless steel caseback and comes on its original leather strap with folding clasp.

Dial

Importantly, this example is from the final series featuring original tritium lume. The black dial displays large Arabic numerals filled with luminous material. As noted above, legibility is paramount here. The sub-dials at 3, 6, and 9 o’clock show 30-minute, 12-hour, and running seconds counters. The trained eye will immediately notice the “Big Eye” configuration – the right register is noticeably larger than the others, which makes reading the elapsed minutes easier.

Movement

The Ref. 3800ST is equipped with a flyback chronograph, which allows the chronograph to be reset and restarted instantly by pressing the lower pusher. Powering this watch is the automatic Caliber 582, based on the Lemania 1350. This movement has 25 jewels, a frequency of 28,800 vibrations per hour, and a power reserve of approximately 48 hours. The movement is in perfect condition and has been freshly serviced by us.

Set

Like most of our watches, this Breguet comes as a full set. It includes an unusual box that reflects the profile of an aircraft wing, along with the booklet and the guarantee certificate.
