It was one of the watches that really sparked my passion for collecting, and back then I was constantly looking for examples with beautifully faded bezels. Prices were considerably lower at the time, but the model was already highly sought-after — and its appeal has certainly not diminished over the years.\u003cspan class=\"PDq2pG_selectionAnchor\"\u003e\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003ch3 data-section-id=\"ynccdu\" dir=\"auto\" data-start=\"440\" data-end=\"448\"\u003eCase\u003c\/h3\u003e\n\u003cp dir=\"auto\" data-start=\"450\" data-end=\"748\"\u003eThe case is exceptionally well preserved, with the \u003cstrong data-start=\"501\" data-end=\"528\"\u003eoriginally drilled lugs\u003c\/strong\u003e still present — a characteristic detail of the earlier Ref. 16710 examples. The proportions of the lugs are very crisp and, together with the overall condition of the watch and bracelet, present a very coherent picture.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp dir=\"auto\" data-start=\"750\" data-end=\"951\"\u003eThe watch dates to \u003cstrong data-start=\"769\" data-end=\"781\"\u003eMay 1998\u003c\/strong\u003e, making this an earlier example of the Ref. 16710. The drilled lug holes are an increasingly sought-after detail among collectors and are rarely found on later examples.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003ch3 data-section-id=\"ynen46\" dir=\"auto\" data-start=\"953\" data-end=\"961\"\u003eDial\u003c\/h3\u003e\n\u003cp dir=\"auto\" data-start=\"963\" data-end=\"1195\"\u003eThe dial is in excellent condition, with the white-gold hands and applied hour markers remaining clean and well preserved.
